June 3, 2016, 6-9pm – First Fridays Art Opening – Found and Fabricated
As part of downtown Aurora First Fridays, Emergent Gallery at Metropolitan Coworking will be hosting a group show with some of our favorite local artists. Exhibiting will be Jason Arthur, Jason DeLancey, Teresa Millies and Brittany Tripp. Jason & Jason will be displaying recent photography works and Teresa and Brittany will be showing new fabric art pieces.
May 6, 2016 @ 3:30-5:00pm – Ribbon Cutting Event
The official ribbon cutting of Metropolitan Coworking! The Aurora Chamber of Commerce and the local business community will be on hand to cut the ribbon and celebrate Metropolitan Coworking’s arrival in downtown Aurora. The big red ribbon will actually be cut at 4:00pm.
May 6, 2016, 6-10pm – First Fridays Art Opening – Past Matter with Stephen Signa-Aviles
A solo exhibition by artist Stephen Signa-Avilés. Past Matter is a re-working of projects, ideas, and artworks from years past as a means of utilizing what has been and what is now to form the new. These works continue to challenge distinctions between sculpture and painting and represent a significant shift in the artists primary focus from painting to sculpture. April 1, 2016 – First Fridays Art Opening: Collective:Observations
A group show curated by members of the Collective, hosted by Emergent Gallery, and featuring Collective artists: Corrie Thompson, Anna Nelson, Tim Erickson, Rachel Lindsay, Elizabeth Rice, and Maggie Hubbard. “Collective: Observations” explores art-making as an act of observing, recording, and collecting. Themes of memory, ritual, and the value of the mundane are examined through the lens of six artists and their practices. “Collective: Observations” will remain at Emergent Gallery throughout the month of April with an open reception on April 1st, 6pm-10pm, as part of the First Fridays of downtown Aurora.
